We re home predominantly Sighthounds. We can't take them all, however we do our best for the ones we can
We are a foster based group based in the Yarra Valley which came together to help those animals which would otherwise may not have the chance of a new life.
We mainly rescue/re home sighthounds now - in particular re home retired greyhounds.
Menagerie Manor has diversified into TTouch and Body Wrapping - a non invasive way to help many problems including anxiety, pain, body awareness, barking, pre and post surgery anxiety
We also help people re home their animals who are no longer able to care for them due to illness, or major change in circumstances.
All the dogs have been vet checked, de sexed, vaccinated, wormed, flea'd and micro chipped before re homing.
WHY WE DO IT
The Boy and the Starfish
A man was walking along a deserted beach at sunset. As he walked he could see a young boy in the distance, as he drew nearer he noticed that the boy kept bending down, picking something up and throwing it into the water. Time and again he kept hurling things into the ocean.
As the man approached even closer, he was able to see that the boy was picking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach and, one at a time he was throwing them back into the water.
The man asked the boy what he was doing, and the boy replied,"I am throwing these washed up starfish back into the ocean, or else they will die. "But", said the man, "You can't possibly save them all, there are thousands on this beach, and this must be happening on hundreds of beaches along the coast. You can't possibly make a difference." The boy smiled, bent down and picked up another starfish, and as he threw it back into the sea, he replied.
"I made a huge difference to that one!"

We cannot save them all, but we will do our best with the ones we do
Menagerie Manor is dedicated to re homing the sighthounds to responsible homes which understand the psyche of these beautiful hounds.
The hounnds can spend some time with us - for vet work, assessment, retraining - so that they can be the best they ca be before going home
